After receiving several quotes from different decking companies, we decided to go with R and R Affordable Deck Builders, and it was the best decision we could have made! From our very first meeting, the owner stood out from the competition by taking the time to show us photos of previous projects, along with decking material samples and color options. That…

DuPage County deck questions

Which DuPage County towns do you build decks in?

We are based in Roselle and build across DuPage County. We have pages for Roselle, Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, Bartlett, Itasca, Elk Grove Village, Addison, Wheaton, Hanover Park, Naperville, Glen Ellyn, Wayne, Medinah, and we build in Lisle, Lombard, Wood Dale, Villa Park, Downers Grove and the other county towns without a page. Call (630) 523-8543 if you are not sure.

How much does a deck cost in DuPage County?

Most decks we build in DuPage County run $8,000 to $40,000 installed. Per square foot, expect $30 to $45 for pressure-treated, $40 to $60 for cedar and $55 to $80 for capped composite, including footings, framing, railings and the permit. Height and stairs move the number more than size does. See the deck cost guide.

Who issues deck permits in DuPage County?

Your village, if you live inside village limits. Roselle, Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, Addison, Wheaton, Glen Ellyn, Naperville and the rest each have their own department, forms and footing rules. Unincorporated addresses such as Medinah go through DuPage County Building and Zoning. We pull the permit on every job. Each town page lists the office and the published requirements.

How deep do deck footings have to be in DuPage County?

Every DuPage village we have verified requires footings at or below 42 inches, which is the local frost depth. Some add rules of their own, such as deeper piers near the foundation. The town pages quote each village's own figure with its source.

Do you have decks I can see in my town?

Yes. Every finished job with its own page is listed under Projects with the town, the board, the size and the month. Today that covers Bloomingdale, Lisle, Roselle, Hanover Park in DuPage County, and more towns as jobs finish.

How soon can you come out for an estimate?

Usually within a week. Ryan runs every estimate himself: he measures, looks under the old deck if there is one, brings board samples and leaves you a written price. There is no charge and no pressure.
